Remembering Patric's Micronesia memoir

Katherine Davis surprised with a remembrance of Patric Mullen, a dear friend.
Here are initial thoughts requiring completion:
"Patric Mullen and I became friends early in 1974. I had a new job editing a newsletter for the Migrant Legal Action Program--the MLAP ("emlap"} Monthly Report.
"I was the only professional in an office of attorneys. Patric was well respected by my colleagues (even though he was not an attorney). Instead, Patric was the DC lobbyist for the Sharecroppers Fund--an organization establishing in 1933 by Eleanor Roosevelt."
I appreciate the service that makes remembrance accessible. Good friendship is too important and complicated for pat words. I know what Patric would have thought about remembrance cards. In August 2016, preparing to return to Durham from State College, PA where I currently live, I was shocked to learn of my friend Patric and friend Trina's death. I can see them now in their glorious Forest Park home musing about what is said about them.
Until then, Joel

Patric became my mentor when I joined him lobbying with urban school systems, in 1996. As the lobbyist for Wake County Schools Patric and I worked closely. He was well respected by members of the NC legislature and other lobbyists. We spent many years before his retirement walking the halls of the legislature and holding court at a designated table with other lobbying friends. I enjoyed his stories and his get gatherings in Durham were phenomenal. I reconnected with Patric after his many years of retirement, when Trina had died. I had not spoken to him much since his retirement. There are still some sayings I use when I lobby, that he used regularly. He was also a prolific and fabulous writer who used his talents to make several plaques with sayings for some of our legislative friends, through the years. I will miss him, but will have the memories of working with him during some interesting times in Raleigh.

It was my good fortune to meet Patric on several occasions in the last two years. A lovely man, he left a lot of goodness in the world.
