Robert Joseph Chrzanowski, 71, of Houston, Texas, recently passed away.
Robert was born in Wilkes-Barre, on Jan. 30, 1949. He graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1966, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in art education at Mansfield State College in 1971. Robert then went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree from Instituto Allende in San Miguel, Mexico, in 1972.
After working as a high school teacher, he moved to Galveston, Texas, where he was a co-owner of two art galleries. He became well known for his award winning jewelry design. His work was unique and delicate and spiritual. His "people rings" were finger sculptures.
His art journey took him to Houston where he developed his sculpture and painting talent. He had numerous one man shows and his artwork hangs in many homes and businesses not only in Texas, but throughout the Southwest and of course in many of the family homes. His talent will be missed.
Robert was a caring, loving friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed travel when he wasn't pouring his heart into his art. He enjoyed being with his family as long it wasn't in the Pennsylvania winter.
He was the son of the late Chester B. Chrzanowski and Ruth H. Morrash Chrzanowski, Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his brother, John Chrzanowski of Coatesville; and numerous beloved cousins, aunts and uncle.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Ben Taub Hospital, Baylor University, and Houston Hospice for their love, support, and dedication to Robert's care.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Sunshine Foundation, or any of the many deserving charities dedicated to the fight against cancer.
