I am saddened that this beautiful woman and gifted artist left us far too soon. I am thankful for the beautiful quilts that now represent her and look forward to future exhibits of her work that call us to commune with her Spirit. My deepest condolences to Dr. Magee and the family.

Our prayers go out to Dr. Magee and Gwen Magee's entire family. She was a very warm, intelligent, creative and gifted lady. We shared many jokes and laughs with her about her not sharing/selling her beautiful quilts with us. May God rest her in His loving arms. We will miss you Gwen. I was saddened to hear that Gwen was gone, but happy to know that when we see clouds forming great shapes and sunrises and sunsets in glorious colors that Gwen is still working on those quilts, just using different media.
Blessings to all of the Magees from one of the quartet of "first cousins", Myrt, Clinton "Brother", Frances and Jackie Jones.
Love to all of you from all of us.

I was saddened to learn from United States Artists about Gwen's untimely death, too soon. We served together on an award panel in L.A. after she got her honor from the organization. I thought she was a lovely, warm, good-humored person, and I hoped that we'd have a chance to meet again. I'm sorry that I've missed my chance, and I can only imagine how much harder it must be for her family. With all best wishes,

Dr. Magee, I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Magee; however, the length of time you were together tells me that she was a wonderful and very special person. May the Lord continue to bless you, your children, grandchildren and the entire family during these hours of bereavement. You all will continually be in our prayers.

To The Magee Family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Gwen, was such an inspiration to me as a quilter. She spoke with me on the phone for two hours discussing quilting, museums, and galleries. In her last email to me she stated, "follow the voice within". I will always do this as a quilter. Her words changed my life in profound way and her inspiration forever has changed me as an upcoming quilter. May God Bless You! She will be missed by me and I so deeply hope that as a family you have time to heal. I cried when I found out that she had passed away because she was so giving in her time to talk with me about quilting. She taught to be a resource, to share ideas, and most of all to BELIEVE in the dreams that God puts in all of our hearts. I will forever remember what she has given to me. God bless and you are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sherise Marie Wright
