I met Mr. Madlock 25 years ago when he was my history teacher at Shelby State. He told me he was an attorney and had been my attorney every since. He became my mother's attorney and I referred several friends to him. He always had a story for me, about his son or how he and his wife met. He was a talker and I always just listened. I considered him a friend and was devastated today to hear of his passing. My condolences to his entire family! Wanda Oliver

Mr. Madlock wore many hats in life, I know him as Professor Madlock. Professor Madlock was funny and witty, even though he would joke and laugh with you he was no nonsense when it came to your assignments. He often shared his pearls of wisdom with the class and he demanded and commanded respect at all times. One student tried him, he was even taller than Mr. Madlock 6'3 frame, Professor Madlock grabbed him by the back of his pants, pulled him to the door and said don't come back until you are ready to learn and show respect! I will never forget that day! My heart goes out to his wife, children and grandchildren, he spoke of them often.
