To Dorothy's loving family,
It is with great sadness that we learned of Dorothy's passing. We had been friends as classmates. She was a gracious and wonderful person. We know she is deeply missed. Our best thoughts are with you.

Dear Sonny and family, I am so sorry to just learn of Dorothy's passing. We went to Hillview Junior High and Pittsburg Senior High together - were very close in Junior High. Even at that early age, Dorothy had a marvelous capacity for loving others and an easy ability to bring people together. She taught me how to cook adobo and lumpia; I taught her potato salad and fried chicken. One year, we made a very long road trip to my birthplace, Nashville, Tennessee. She tried to gain the accent...didn't do too well with that! Blessings to all of you. I know that Dorothy is reaping the rewards from being such a good woman, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend.

To The Arce and Valenzuela Family:
May Dorothy's memories of being a truly good wife, mother, sister, grandma, aunt and a friend to be proud of, help the whole family to go thru this moment in a comforting way.
Even at a time of such unexpected sadness, love and memories endure. And they will stay with you forever.
Dorothy will surely be missed. With love and prayers.

I was so touched by Dorothy's grand-daughters' tribute at her vigil. Their love and devotion to their grandmother was reflected through their singing her favorite songs. Dorothy was truly loved and it was obvious. Sonny, you and Dorothy had a special bond which is everlasting. May her loving ways always comfort you, your beloved sons and daughter, grandchildren and family members. We were all blessed to have her for the short time she was with us.

I am so sorry to hear about Dorothy. Dorothy was my best friend at Parkside Elementary School and I remember how kind she (and her entire family) were. I loved having dinner at the Valenzulea home ~ 12 people around the dinner table was a little piece of heaven to me. I know Dorothy will leave a very large empty place in many hearts, mine included. My deepest sympathy.
