Lillian Harp Obituary
Lillian C. Harp, 87, entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2015, she was born in Newberry, S.C. on January 17, 1927 to the late George and Inez (Glasgow) Chaplin. She retired from G. E. Company after 40 years of service and went on to work in Westport, CT. She became an Eastern Star Chapter #94 and was an active member of Walters Memorial A.M.E Zion Church for over 50 years.
Cherishing her memory are; sons; Clifford Drye of New Haven, CT, Mark S. Harp of Bridgeport, CT, and Leroy (Connie) Harp of VA; daughters; Josephine (Edward) Lennon of South Carolina, Loraine Harp of Charlotte , N.C, Maryann Harp of West Haven, CT, Delores Harp of Bridgeport, CT, and Lillian (James) McKnight of Stratford, CT; sisters Georgia Brown and Louvenia William of Newberry, S.C., Mildred Dyer, Melinda Chaplin and Earnestine Ruff all of Bridgeport, CT; a brother, Daniel (Annie) Chaplin of S.C.; 3 sisters-in-law; 3 daughters-in-law; 65 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A Service of Celebration will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Mount Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport with Rev. Janine Hawkins officiating. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 am until time of service at the church. Interment immediately following in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport. Arrangements entrusted to Geo. J. Peterson FH.,1041 Noble Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.
