Mrs. Reed: I'm so sorry for your loss. I had you for physical education in 1980 and 1984 and you were a great teacher and made gym class fun. I met Mr. Reed in 1983 at Butler, and he was always very nice to me; He never gave me a detention for being in the hallway without a hall pass. You and your daughters are in my thoughts and prayers.

Fond memories of a talented educator whose influence remains active in my thoughts to this day. I've even said "new moon is no moon" to my son. Blessings and condolences to the friends and family. He was "feared" by some students, but, that wasn't his fault. I'd say "fairness" is the one word by which he could be best remembered. Thank you, Mr. Reed.

So sorry for your loss! Mr. Reed was a one man show and loved by his students! A true example of what an excellent instructor and coach should be.

Mr. Reed was my vice principal until my high school graduation in 1982. He held us to high standards but was always kind and compassionate to his students. Mrs. Reed was my gymnastics coach all through high school and they were both very supportive of the team and particularly to me. I was not the best athlete by far, but the Reeds treated me with the same attention and respect as the best team members. They were there for me during a period of time when I had little guidance. My condolences to the Reed family and my graditude for all Mr. and Mrs. Reed did for me.

You in Steve's family have my sincere sympathy. I enjoyed working with him at Butler High School. I was a math instructor when he was assistant principal. He supported us, and was a great person.
