Emma M. Baumann

Emma M. Bauman, age 46 of Piqua, passed away on Monday January 5,2026 at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born in Piqua, Ohio on July 16,1979 to the late George Edgar and Susan Kay (Oehrtman) Jess. She married the love of her life Zane Baumann on March 20,2011 and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three siblings: Megan Jess, Piqua, OH; Sarah Jess, Lancaster, S.C.; Jenny Andrews, Waxhaw, N.C; and her father and mother in law: Fred and Robin Baumann, Piqua, OH.
Emma had a smile to light up the world and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Emma graduated with the 1998 Class of Piqua High School and was a member of the Madison Avenue First Church of God in Piqua. She loved to donate her time and enjoyed volunteering, most recently at Lake Loramie State Park in Minster. She had much joy in reading books to the children at Piqua City Schools, and volunteering at The Bethany Center in Piqua as well. She loved to be in nature and capture the beauty of it by snapping pictures outdoors. She also enjoyed time crafting and quilling. Her greatest love was spending time with her husband, family and friends.
A Celebration to honor the life of Emma will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 10,2026 at Madison Avenue First Church of God 922 Madison Ave, Piqua, OH 45356 with Pastor Michael Miller and Pastor Scot Ocke officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Lockington, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM prior to service at the church.
