James Testerman

Jim Testerman, age 62, died suddenly on Nov. 12, 2013. His death, caused by heart disease, occurred after doing what he loved best, being "On the Road Again."

He was a combat engineer in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974. He served in Vietnam and was Meritoriously decorated.

Born in Marion, VA, he resided the majority of his life in Delaware, most recently in Georgetown, on his beloved "Estate" on Zoar Road. He worked as an over the road truck driver and was most proud of his "2 Million Mile Safe Driving" award. His passions were cars, car restoration and resurrection and fixing anything with wheels and an engine. He loved music, playing his guitar, and fishing. He was a talented "Jack of all Trades" and could fix anything. Helping family, friends or strangers was what he did BEST. Jim was One of a Kind and will be sadly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Testerman, sister Tonia Leonard, brother William DudleyTesterman, grandmothers Eliza Parks and Millie Testerman and his faithful friend Max.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 26 years, BettijaneTesterman; his mother Mary Testerman Carter; daughter Melissa (Butchie); son Scott (Beverly); granddaughters Christina (Erik) and Maranne; grandson Ian (Lynsa); great-grandchildren Michelle and Chad; brothers Edgar and Ray and sister Teresa; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; extended families, the Kucharzyks,Terranovas, and Angeloros; many friends, including his long time buddy, John Mayberry; and his beloved dogs, Millie, Tubby and Reba.

Family and friends are invited to attend services to be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE on December 6, 2013 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the Sussex County SPCA in Georgetown, DE.
