Sebastian Meli Obituary
Webster: Suddenly on January 8, 2012. He is survived by his mother and father, Antonina and Carmelo Meli; brother, Giuseppe (Maria); niece and nephews, Gabrielle, Carmelo and Jonathan; uncle, Giuseppe (Francine) Fricia; aunt, Santa Arena; uncle, Sebastian (Enza) Patania of Sicily and several cousins. Sebastian was a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy.
Friends may call Thursday, 4-8 PM at the funeral chapel (1031 Ridge Rd., Webster). A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, 10 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 783 Hard Road, Webster. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. To share a memory or photo of Sebastian, visit:

Sebastian was a great friend and an inspiration to all who knew him. I will greatly miss his sense of humor, how he made me laugh and the comfort it brought me to know he was just around the corner. He will truly be missed but never forgotten!!! He was the way more people should be in this world! I am truly sorry for his loss but may you have comfort in knowing he touched many people in such a positive way. Sebastian was a perfect gentleman, so kind, polite, and respectful. The good times during pirates weekend will be remembered forever. He will be missed by all his buddies and esp me...the NY Mom of the all the "pirates" we are all sad and feel the great loss!

If there is one thing I remember most about Seb is that he always made an effort to stay in touch regardless of how busy life became. I sure will miss him, more now knowing I won't be able to talk to my friend.

I have never met a more determined & tenacious guy to ever want to wear this uniform. Despite a couple of disappointments, you never once gave in & you continued on pursuing your goal until you succeeded.
