I truly loved this man. He was my dentist for many years. I never was afraid of going to see him. He would always tease me and tell me to eat some candy he could use the money. Rest in peace my dear Dr. Shipp.

What I remember most is how much I learned from Dr. Shipp while I was his captive audience in the dental chair. Not only did I learn about teeth, but tons of extra stuff, like teeth are most related in nature to fish scales or that a spoon full of sugar does cure hiccups because of the texture...the gas bounds with the crystals; he said a spoon full of sand would work too but that you would be sorry about that. I learned about Poly High school back in the day, about his military experience, and his cattle experience; all sorts of emergency dental events. Truly I enjoyed my 40 plus years as his patient and listener. Vivia Daniels

Dr. Shipp was my dentist for over 30 years. He was so good to me back when I didn't have any money. He let me pay my expenses out monthly and never charged me interest or tried to get me to pay more than I could. He was always kind and compassionate and I loved his stories. Such a wonderful man and dentist. My sympathy to his family.

One of the most wonderful people I've ever known. He always made me laugh, and his dentistry never, ever hurt. I'm so glad to have known him. Bless him and his family.

I'm so sorry to here of your loss and the loss of a great dentist. I first saw Dr Shipp when i was a young man of about 16. He fixed probably every tooth in my head. I didn't mind when he gave me the anesthetic, he would always get me just to the point of laughing and then zing me with that needle. The think I remember the most, as I was leaving the office, he would tell me to be sure and bring anything back if it came out. I only had to return once when a temporary crown had come off but he made good on his word and fixed it. Sad thing is when I went back to get the permenant crown, he had a hard time getting the second temporary crown off. I though he was going to pull me out of the chair. Please believe he will be missed by many and he will be waiting for us in our fathers mansion in the sky.

I just asked about Dr Shipp on my recent visit to the dentist. We started seeing Dr Shipp after our marriage in 1967.That's 50 years and he always said, "No one should ever lose their teeth if they can help it!" I still have mine minus the wisdom teeth!! Thank you, Dr. Robert Shipp!
