James Edward Shumaker

SHUMAKER James Edward Shumaker, age 82, born August 22, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, August 28, 2009. Married to Mary Rose Harrington on July 28, 1950. Retired mechanical engineer at Midland - Ross Corporation, Janitrol Aeronautical Division after 36 years. Veteran of both WWII and Korean Wars. Earned his bachelors degree from The Ohio State University. Longtime member of Christ the King Church and Vineyard Pataskala Church. Preceded in death by parents Cletus and Mary Shumaker, sister Helen Shumaker. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Rose; sons, David (Mandy), Mark (Robin), Matt (Jackie), Jack (Mary); daughter, Jill (Michael) Yurkovic; sister, Mary Jane Goelz, all of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Peter (Alicia), Lisa, Kirstie, Jena (Nick), Alyssa, Jillian, Maighdlin, Brianna Shumaker, Andy (Sara) and Adam Yurkovic; brother-in-law, Bill Rehl; and sister-in-law, Barb Rehl; a host of nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of 270), where services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday with Pastor Brian Burd officiating. Interment will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery.
