Jon Trickey Obituary

Trickey, Jon
1968 - 2017
Jon "Trick" Trickey was born April 21, 1968 in Missoula, Montana and died August 30, 2017 in Westerville, Ohio. What he did with his time here on earth will never be forgotten. His genuine kindness to others, having never spoken a mean word about anyone (except Donald Trump), his ability to see talents and value in those around him, and then guide them in a natural way toward self-revelation, along with his brilliant mind…made him a man who everyone wanted to call "friend". Trick graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1986 and earned a Bachelor of Science from DeVry University. He was the "Grandfather of IT" at SafeAuto Insurance, until his entrepreneurial spirit led him to SkyWirez, where he served as CEO. He was passionate about his motorcycle, computer gaming, Amazon shopping and was a self-taught gourmet chef. He played guitar with the group "Jester" during the 80's and 90's and never lost his love for music. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carrie McCain; father George Trickey; daughters Michelle and Denise Trickey; grandson Jonathan Trickey who affectionately called him "Papa Trick"; step daughter Divina Lapid; brother Ralph (Kathy) Trickey and their daughter Rachel Moyer; his very close friend and former wife Bev Vaughn; aunts, uncles, extended family and an amazing circle of friends were not only there for the good times, but stepped up during the hard times as well. He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Trickey and his first wife, Alice. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday September 16, 2017 at 2pm at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus, OH 43214 with Rev. Eric Meter. Trick's positive attitude helped in his battle with a glioblastoma brain cancer. He donated his body to The Ohio State University Medical School, in hopes of advancing medical research. A charity will be designated for donations in lieu of flowers at a later date. Please visit, www.schoedinger.com to view Trick's tribute page.

Jon and I played in a band together before Jester, Prodigy. He was always smiling and was such a positive person to be around. I have nothing but good memories of the times we spent together rocking out and living our teenage dreams. You are missed.

Trick we shared mutual friends. We had a few of the same girlfriends. We shared many of the same interests. I guess we were too similar to be best friends. You were a better man than I. Sorry you lost the race. Best wishes on your new journey. You were born a day after me in a better place. You may be in a better place now and I hope to join you someday my brother.

Jon left many admirers behind and that is a great legacy to leave. God notices that kind of person and in this day and age they are rare. We definately look forward to seeing him again in paradise. May the Almighty God of comfort be with his family and friends now and always as they go through this difficult time. May they also draw close to God and learn about the many blessings he has in store for us and also for our loved ones who we have lost in death. God really does love you.
