Similar to what many others have said, Dr. Trabue provided our health care for more than 30 years. His ability to listen closely and involve us in the decisions regarding our care was an endearing part of our relationship with him, which felt more like a friendship. He regularly provided simple, non-intrusive ways to prevent or ease pain and always included a chuckle in any conversation. He was a true healer and will be deeply missed.

I am going to miss this great man and doctor. Being a patient of his for more then 26 years, I have come to know Dr. Jeff as a very caring and funny individual. Even after having to switch insurance carriers, I always found a way to return to him.
His daughters meant everything to him, and we would talk for 15-20 minutes sometimes just discussing family life, yard work, and whatever other topics struck us during my visits. His visits I actually looked forward going to. It never failed that after every long discussion, he would always tell me, “ now get out of here!” I am so saddened for his family and friends for this great loss of a husband, father, and doctor.
He will sincerely be missed by so many.
I doubt very much that any clinician that I choose next will ever fill his shoes.

It's taken a bit to be able to write this. Dr Trabue was my doctor for 25 years. There was not an appointment that he didn't talk about his family. It was clear how much he loved them. Now there also was not a time he didn't have a story, often long and always humorous. Sometimes I think the laughter was actually the cure. Not sure how many people can say this about their doctor, but Dr Trabue was part of our family. He will be greatly missed. I hope his family can find peace and know how much he meant to his patients. God bless you.

Dr Trabue was an exceptional physician. He took time to listen, he cared, and he wasn't afraid to laugh with a patient. This is a great loss and my sympathies go out to all who will miss him.

Dr Trabue was our physician for nearly 23 years. We respected him as a doctor and like him as a person. While we never met his family, we discussed our families, a little. I told him some years ago that he couldn’t retire as long as we lived because we depended upon him to keep us “going.” He replied, “I can’t retire because I have two daughters in college.” Like all of his patience, we will miss him terribly.

The best doctor in the world and mine for over 25 years. Jeff had a way of making you feel special and that he had nowhere else to be when meeting with you. He was so funny and loved to laugh. I will miss him so much!! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I have known Jeff since he was a cute, sandy haired, freckled face boy. Our families were friends and would often get together at his family's home on the 4th of July. I remember playing water volleyball in their pool and I would lift him up when he got into deep water. He never gave up! I am not surprised to hear all the wonderful comments people are making about Jeff. I am so sorry of his premature death and my thoughts are with his brothers, sister, wife, and daughters.

Dr. Trabue was the best kind of doc you could wish for: professional, knowledgeable, concerned, caring and personable. He always took time to listen, as much a friend as a doctor. It was with deep sadness that I read of his passing. My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones. He will be missed by so many.

Dr. Trabue was my family's doctor and primary care provider for going on 33 years - he was able to provide early diagnosis for my Type 1 Diabetes and then called personally to get a hold of my parents while out of town on a weekend to make sure I was sent to the hospital for treatment. I owe my life to him, and continued to entrust my care to him. He knew my mother as well, and would always joke with me more as a friend than a care provider whenever I had questions or minor health issues. He will be hard to replace, and was one of a kind. Rest in peace.

Jeff was my physician for more years than I care to remember. I enjoyed his gruff yet frank discussion, dry sense of humor, and his seeming joy of his profession and helping people. He never once complained about anything, well maybe a few times. Prayers for his family .Going to miss you sir! RIP.

I met Jeff as my assistant basketball coach for DYA. Our daughters were in 6th grade. Jeff was a great coach, and he an I loved teaching our girls basketball fundamentals, how to play hard, how to be tough, and how to show good sportsmanship. I was blessed to know him. Mary, Kelly, and Katie, I am so sorry for your loss. Many prayers. Eternal rest grant unto him o Lord and may the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Trabue for over 30 years and we feel like we’ve lost a dear friend. He was the best doctor, so thorough and attentive to your health, but always took the time to joke and really talk and get to know you. He genuinely cared about his patients and never made you feel rushed. We shared many stories over the years and he often spoke of his love for his wife and daughters. We are truly heartbroken to learn of his sudden passing and our deepest condolences go out to his family and all those who love him. He will be missed and forever remembered.

As a patient, I never thought I'd shed tears for a physician. But here I am. The world has lost a great man. He would probably scoff and deny, but Dr Trabue personified all that any physician should strive to be. He treated his patients with a true interest in their health, and with dignity, humanity and wonderful sense of humor. Obviously brilliant and insightful in medicine, Dr Trabue was so much more than most GP's. He instinctively knew to diagnose with empathy, but at the same time in a matter of fact manner. He made you feel like a friend; I'd never looked forward to a doctor's appointment before I met Dr Trabue! May God bless him and his family and all who were privileged to know him. His passing is a great loss to us all.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful man! Dr. Trabue has been my physician for 3 decades and was an awesome doctor and friend. It didn't matter if I was sick or well, I would always enjoy my appointments with him. He had an incredible (usually sarcastic) wit and infectious personality. He would always take time to chat, and his chats were genuine and sincere (and usually funny), not just small talk. He was interested in me as a person, not just a patient. I appreciated him being straight-forward, yet caring and kind-hearted. I will never forget his smiling face. This is an enormous loss and I am truly heartbroken for myself (selfishly) and for those whose lives were touched by him.
My heart goes out to his family, friends and staff. This man made a mark and will not be forgotten. Prayers to you all during this time of incredible sadness. God Bless.

He was my husband's doctor. He saved him with an early suspicion of Cancer which was correct. At our last visit in April he heped deliver a difficult diagnosis with honesty and respect and made sure to send us to the experts in that medical field. His relaxed manner worked well with my husband who did not care for doctors generally. He will be missed...Anne and Phil Riegel

So sad to hear this news. I first met Dr. Trabue when I was 27 years old. I had two small children at home, and I woke up one morning with a horrible case of chicken pox! I didn't have a general physician at the time. It was 1991 or 1992. I looked up doctors in the phone book and found Dr. Trabue. He got me in that day, and made me laugh, even though I was miserable! I never went to another physician. He's been my doctor for nearly 30 years. His patients will miss him dearly.... I know I will. My condolences to all of his family and friends. Linda "T"

Dr. Trabue, has been my doctor for over 19 years and I always appreciated the way that he cared for me. I was introduced to him, because he did AAA's annual physicals. I loved him from our first meeting. As mentioned by others, he and I shared a love for OSU - football and the school. He always took the time to check on me, my family, and now deceased mother as a friend - not just as a doctor. This is truly a shock to me and I will miss him and our conversations. My deepest heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. He was very proud of his daughters as he spoke of you often. I could see the love he had for his family from these conversations. May God bless your family during these hard times, but know how many lives your husband and father touched, which will never be the same without him.

I’m truly saddened and shocked by this! Dr. Trabue was my physician for the past 16 years. He was excellent and more of a friend than just another doctor. He took his time to take care of me and even fit me in when I had burns and other injuries and wanted to see him rather than go to urgent care or an ER. We got to know each other well over the years and he spoke very fondly of his wife and daughters. Mary, Katie, and Kelly, my thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.

I am reading this is complete disbelief. Jeff has been my physician for over 30 years and more so a friend over those years. I loved his personality and the manner in which he provided me care. He was always very direct with his medical advice to me and we would always laugh and banter with each other during my visits. This is a profound loss for many, many folks and especially his family. I am going to miss him greatly, but I always have the memories. My thoughts and prayers are extended to his family.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Dr. Trabue was my physician over the last 15-20 years and the one thing that distinguished him from previous physicians was his deep care for his patients. He listened, he chastised in a jovial way that didn't hide the fact that he was worried for you if you didn't listen to his instructions, and he never rushed you out the door. He was detailed and a wonderful human being. My condolences to his loved ones on this loss. May his memories always lighten your path and bring smiles to your faces.

Dr. Trabue became my tenant when I managed the building in Dublin. He then became my doctor when I was hit near my eye by a golf ball while on a course. He was awesome! Always took the time to sit and talk even though he might be running behind. Talked to me as a friend and not just a patient. I used to kid him that he could not retire until I died. This is beyond sad. I am so very sorry for your loss he was an awesome man!

Jeff and family. I am so sad. Jeff was a great man. Every single time I visited him, he made me feel like a human being. We both had 2 daughters and we shared our life stories. I saw Jeff about a month ago for my yearly physical. Yet, we ended up talking about our family. He was so proud to walk one daughter down the aisle and was looking so forward to the next time. I will miss my doctor as well as my friend. I wish all the best to Jeff’s work family and his true love family. God Bless you Jeff. We will meet again my Brother. John Austin

Dr. Trabue has been our family doctor for over 30 years. I can't imagine not seeing him again, or laughing with him or listening to him scold me for one thing or another. My husband and I just loved him. He never rushed me & listened to everything I had to say. He was one of a kind.

Dr. Trabue has been our family physician since I was 11 years old. He was the one I went to for any sort of ailment and the one who helped guide me through several life changes including the birth of my son and the postpartum depression I battled afterwards and then the unexpected death of my young husband just a few years later. He had a way of just making you feel so at ease and comfortable to share whatever was on your mind and then always willing to give you an honest, direct answer. He helped in more ways then I have ever thanked him for, and it breaks my heart that I won't get another chance to thank him in person. To Dr. Trabue's wife and children...My heart hurts for the loss of your husband and father. "I'm sorry" isn't enough, but I truly am beyond sorry...He had such a positive impact on so many people's lives, and I am so grateful that I was able to have such an excellent doctor to trust over the past 23 years. Sending so much love and prayers during this time. Please know Dr. Trabue will not be forgotten...

Mary,
You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. We remember Jeff as a compassionate doctors. When we moved to SC 11 years ago, it was quite obvious what a special doctor Jeff was, he actually cared about everyone and their health. We still have not find a doctor to fill his shoes.
I hope over time you and girls will be able to move forward. We will keep you in our thoughts.
