Caroline Swardstrom Obituary

Caroline Elizabeth Swardstrom, 95, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at the Sunrise Home in Two Harbors. She was born Oct. 26, 1908, to William and Anna (Olson) Larson. Caroline grew up in Two Harbors and graduated from Two Harbors High School, class of 1927. After graduation she attended business school in Duluth. She worked for an attorney in Two Harbors until being united in marriage to John Swardstrom August 1935. She worked at the Lake View Clinic for 12 years. She enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, sewing, gardening, and playing the piano. She was a devoted wife and care giver to her husband who had suffered a stroke. She gave him excellent care for 15 years until his death in 1984. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Timothy Houle; sisters Dorothy Gray, Sylvia Crayne and brother Melvin Larson. Caroline was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by sons; Jack (Delaine) of Olathe, Kan. and Lyle (Muriel) of Two Harbors; daughter Carolyn (Phillip) Houle of Silver Bay; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters; Gerry Bark and Marilyn (Dan) Gualtieri of Two Harbors and several nieces and nephews. Caroline's family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Home for the wonderful care she had for the last three years. SERVICE:11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
