Linda Zorn Obituary

Zorn, Linda R. (1953-2014)

Linda R. Zorn, age 61 of Elkhart Lake, WI, passed away peacefully early Friday morning (August 15) at her home surrounded by her loving family after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born in Fond du Lac on June 4, 1953 a daughter of the late Herbert and Evangeline (Entringer) Wirtz.

She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1971.

On November 9, 1984 she married Patrick J. Zorn. The couple has resided in the Elkhart Lake area since their marriage.

She worked for 10 years at Borden's Foods and 25 years at Great Lakes Cheese before retiring on June 6, 2014.

Linda was a 40 year member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

In 1985 Linda and Pat welcomed their only child, Abby Lynn, into the world.

She was so excited to be a new grandma to her first grandson, Jack Norton Risse.

Linda enjoyed gardening, shopping, Packer events, Door County, cooking and spending time with family. She will forever be remembered for canning the best dill pickles.

Survivors include her loving husband Pat of Elkhart Lake; one daughter: Abby (Ryan) Risse of Grafton; grandson: Jack; grandkitties: Prince and Chloe; five brothers: Robert (Sandy) Wirtz of St. Cloud, Joe (Terry) Wirtz of St. Cloud, Peter (Rose) Wirtz of Elkhart Lake, John (Elsie) Wirtz of Plymouth and Denis (Pat) Wirtz of St. Cloud; three sisters: Verla Schneider of Plymouth, Marlene (David) Schaefer of Plymouth and Jane Wirtz of Plymouth and one brother-in-law: Merlin (Darlene) Zorn of Town of Russell.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law: Leo (Cyrilla) Zorn; one brother: Jack Wirtz; two brothers-in-law: Gerald Schneider and Chuck Zorn; one sister-in-law: Caroline Zorn and her beloved "Lucky" cat: Miss Kitty.

The family would like to send special thanks to the following people for all their care and compassion given to Linda: Dr. Kumar, Debbie Grey, Joan #1, Joan #2, Kay, Julie and the entire staff at the Vince Lombardi cancer Clinic (they truly are Lombardi's angels); nurses and therapists of the VNA; Father Wayne Bittner (family friend); Lynn and Ann of Sharon S. Richardson who assisted Linda in remaining comfortable at home; Doug Rouse and Kristen Winter of Great Lakes Cheese for all their support and help over the last 3 years.

They would also like to thank friends/family/co-workers who called, sent cards and visited her. They truly brightened up her days.

And special thanks to Kelly Schaefer (special niece) their family nurse who took such good care of Linda and kept her comfortable during her last hours.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday morning (August 19th) at 10:30 A.M. at St. Isadore Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening (August 18th) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 3:00-7:00 P.M. and at the CHURCH on Tuesday morning (August 19th) from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.

Co-worker at GL, Linda was a bright light. She always was positive and made me smile. She also was glad to listen to the Classic Choir at St. John The Baptist and mentioned it whenever we were singing. She knew the Lord and she is in His light right now :) Blessings to all her family and friends .
