Mark was a very special young man to me. My first year at Homestead and he and his friends made it more than interesting to say the least. They made it fun and crazy. Mark was the leader of the band of brothers and rightly so. He could make me so mad at times, but it didn't last long. All he had to do was put on that grin and you just burst out laughing. Mark also had a very tender side. Our oldest daughter was severely injured in the 6th grade by a couple of boys goofing off. Mark found out and let her know, "If anyone ever gives you trouble again, let me know and the guys and I will take care of them." She still remembers that. He loved to come to our house to fish and I was so hoping that when he visited Fort Wayne he would show up unexpectedly. But, it is not to be. His family is more than welcome to come anytime. I guess you could say we love Mark like a son. Our love and prayers go out to his entire family. God Bless You Mark for He Has You Now. Much Love To All George, Stacey, Stephanie and "Brewski" p.s. Yep the nickname Mark gave me.

Mark loved to fish and hunt. My son Knute, and Mark enjoyed fishing and hunting, and skiing together. They worked and played hard. From fishing the Pere Marquette River (P.M.) to the Manistee to Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay, to Little and Big Bay DeNoc, and Lake Superior, they enjoyed each others company fishing and hunting. Oh, the stories these two would tell. From pheasants, to ducks and geese, to rabbits, deer, and grouse, and bear, they had fun enjoying the great out-of-doors.
Mark had this big appetite for guiding on the P.M. and then stepping up to the bigger Manistee. Wow. He enjoyed his guest, showing them where and how to present his hand tied flies. His knowledge of the environment and his explanations of the interactions taking place thoroughly enlightened his fishing guests. It has been fun watching and hearing about what Mark was up too. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to your family, Mark.
