As we sort through our memories of John, a priceless one comes to mind. During a neighborhood party years ago, the party hosts featured a "freeze frame" dance competition. When the music stopped, the dancers were to stop too - anyone still cutting the rug was tossed out of the competition. After a while, just two people were still going - John and I! Were we the best dancers? Decidedly not! When we were crowned co-winners, no one laughed harder than John! A true gentleman with a great wit, John will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Linda, Andrew and Brian.

Linda,
Too say we were shocked is an understatement. John was in amazing shape. Still playing basketball at his age was quite an accomplishment. He was trying to get Steve to come play in the 50 and over league the last time we ran into you. We will miss running into you at Christopher's Restaurant. You were an amazing couple and I can't imagine what you are going through. Our hearts break for you.
RIP John..I am sure he will find my Dad and play a game of pick up ball up there!

For the past 18 years, John went from being my teammate to a valued and very close friend. Additionally, Johns love and admiration for his wife, Linda, facilitated a natural and easy transition to close a friendship between myself, my wife, John and Linda. When a close friend unexpectedly leaves us, a piece of our heart is forever broken. (Chris Lumpkin) John, you will never be forgotten.

John was a wonderful neighbor and friend. Coaching our sons through multiple sports, as well as the spirited Hubbard Road games, taught us a lot about John's quiet and patient nature. It was always a pleasure spending time with him at the neighborhood gatherings. The Dover community has lost a kind and gentle soul, and we send our sincerest thoughts and prayers to Linda, Andrew and Brian.

John was one friend I will always reminisce about... a more decent caring person there will never be. He was not only a good basketball player but a great teacher and motivator. When I could not make it to our MWF basketball games, I will always remember him texting me We need you Walt. He always saw the good in everyone. I met his wife Linda 2 weeks ago when we were watching him play in the 50+ league game. We had a great time talking about John and his life. The next day before our regular MWF basketball game, John came up to me and said, Thanks for sitting with Linda and talking ... I told him the pleasure was all mine... but that in a nutshell was the kind of person John was. Thanks Linda for your stories about your wonderful husband. I will really miss you John :(.
