I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Although I didn’t know Bill personally, I knew his younger sister Gretchen and his parents Ruth and Bill. This is such a tremendous loss and my heart goes out to all of his family. God bless you all.

Bill was one of the finest young men I have had the privilege of working beside at FDA. He was totally dedicated to his mission of protecting the public. I learned a lot from him. We used to sit and talk about his dad's exploits as a Corpsman in the USMC during Vietnam. I was an Army medic in Nam and we shared experiences. Bill will be sorely missed by all. There is a new star shining in our skies....it is Bill, heading heavenward. God bless.

Joyce, Alex, and Eric....
Bill was funny, kind and hardworking, providing for his family and protecting so many through his dedication to food safety. I know there aren't words to offer that will take away the hurt you feel now, so take comfort in the legacy of love and good memories Bill left. Know that you are surrounded in love and support, and lifted in prayer by so many. We are here for anything and everything you need. We hope you find strength in the quiet moments when God holds you closest. We love you all...

I knew Bill only through his work at FDA, but I can testify that his 24-7 dedication to food safety was literally 24 hours a day, some days and nights. To prepare litigation documents to support an injunction against a Brooklyn company selling listeria-contaminated seafood, Bill worked constantly through the night from noon one Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday, seeing the documents off to the court and then going back to the office.
He not only served to protect the public with his work; he inspired dedicated protective work by those around him. That inspiration will be a continuing monument to his dedication.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I am a RN and Infection Preventionist in the community. Every life we have lost in our community is one too many. I know the Frederick Health staff has worked hard this past year. These deaths are tough and heartfelt. May God bless his soul and with time bring you peace

Bill was a true character and a dedicated member of the CFSAN team. He will remain a shining star in the halls and will never be forgotten for his warm and jovial personality. An example of excellence we should all strive to be like in many ways.
Bill Rest in Peace and know your light will shine forever in those of us who had the pleasure of knowing you even briefly.
