Terry Schlosser Obituary

Teacher, Coach, Fisherman Loving husband, father, brother and teacher, Terrance (Terry) Joseph Schlosser passed away in Arlington, WA, on January 8, 2019, from complications of Parkinson's disease. Terry was born August 24, 1949 to Casimer and Dorothy Schlosser of LaMoure, North Dakota. He was the second of three siblings. Terry met the love of his life, Toni, while attending Central Washington University. The two married and moved to Camano Island, WA, shortly after their graduation in 1973. Terry and Toni taught, inspired and loved their students in the Stanwood-Camano School district for over 30 years while raising their two children. There was no Terry without Toni and there was no Toni without Terry. Terry was a man larger than life, took pride in a hard day's work and would always be the first to offer a helping hand. He devoted his life to his wife, kids and students, never missed an opportunity to educate, tell a good joke and no visit to his home was complete without a trip to the garden for more vegetables than anyone could carry. We will all miss his kind words, calming voice of reason and little smirk after a good joke. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents and survived by his daughter, Meghan, son, Jacob; sisters, Mary Jean and Connie and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Family, friends and others who were touched by Terry's life are invited to attend funeral services at 11:00am on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 26900 78th Ave NW, Stanwood WA 98292. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Schlosser Family Scholarship Fund in Terry's honor. Donations can be sent to: Stanwood Camano Area Foundation, P.O. Box 1209, Stanwood, WA 98292. Please write "Schlosser Family Scholarship Fund" in the memo line.

Mr. Schlosser was not one of my teachers but he was always a happy guy and really enjoyed being around all us kids. If you were not in his class you wished you had gotten into his class. There are many teachers that I don't remember (even some of the ones that were directly instructing me) but Mr. Schlosser is remembered well. My prayers for his friends and family that are in the midst of their grief.

Losing a loved one is never easy, but our loving God promises to give the strength and courage you'll need to endure, and to cope with the pain of your loss. He also promises to hold your hand every step of the way. (Isaiah 40:29, 41:10, 13) May loving memories also sustain your family during this difficult time. Ann Smith

I can not express enough, my sadness at hearing of Terry's passing. He was such an exceptionally kind man. As a Paraeducator taking disabled students into his science classroom, he took extra time to encourage & engage each student at their levels of understanding. I learned a great deal myself! I always told him if I had had him as a science teacher back in the day, I would have loved science! His classroom was ALWAYS full of something new from his nature collection too! May YOU be Blessed with wonderful memories & in knowing he is once again with Toni (another special person!) Namaste', Christina
