We both had wonderful teaching experiences with Mike. He was an excellent leader , a good friend and mostly a great advocate for "special need" kids.

Mike was the best of what educators should be. He respected the people who worked for him and was a great advocate of special children, as he was for all children. He had a sincere love for what he did and made all of us who worked with him love our jobs more. He will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for all the students and parents that will not have the opportunity to experience Mike. He was the best. My condolences to all the McHugh's.

To the McHugh Family, My heartfelt sympathies go out to all of you. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Mike. He was the ultimate professional. His support of students, staff, and families was unwavering. I appreciated his humor to soften the blow when he gave us updates during the difficult times in education. He was one of the best, a class act. He will be greatly missed. His light will continue to shine with all of the lives he has touched.

The McHugh Family,
Your father had such am amazing personality. Always made the best out of the situation. I learned a lot from him and life will be very different without him. I am sorry for your loss.
There is not a grieving message that can express how much he meant to me and I will truly miss him. I also took violin from Mr. Rohr as a 9th grader at Booker Middle School in the early 1970's. Once becoming employed with Sarasota District Schools and meeting your Dad is was instant liking. My deepest sympathy.

Dearest Julie, Michael, Mark, Matt, Martin & Mitchell,
It is so hard to find words of comfort for your pain, however, we wish to express our deepest sympathy at the loss you've just suffered, of your dearest husband, best friend & father Mike. Losing someone you love, turns life from a vibrant world full of color, to black and white. The goal is to make it day by day and surround yourself with people who love you.
We know you are in amazing hands with all of your family and friends. Julie, you have always been a survivor and a rock for your family and we know this will continue---- but we hope we can also offer our love and support to you, as you have always graciously done for all of us.
Healing moves at its own pace. Be kind to yourselves and take it one day at a time. We know how your hearts must be aching and we wish you strength above all. Again, we are truly so very sorry for your loss. We will keep you in our prayers.
Much love to you all...

My most sincere sympathy and condolences to the Mchugh family. Mike was a wonderful man who loved his wife and his family very much. His contributions in the education field were quite obvious, but his devotion was to his wife and his family. Michael's healing was not to be in this world at this time, he now has the true healing that only God can provide.
