Daisy Doescher Obituary

Daisy Belanger Doescher
Montegut - Daisy Belanger Doescher, 100 & 5 months, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Daisy was a native of Morgan City, LA and resident of Montegut, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Montegut Fire Station from 9:30am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at Sacred Heart Church in Montegut, LA at 1:00pm. Burial will follow Mass in the church cemetery.
Daisy is survived by her children, George Carl Doescher and wife Cecelia, Myrtle "SuSu" Rainey and husband John Rainey, Catherine "Toonie" Bellon and husband Rusty, Montella "Montie" Guidry and husband David "Poncheaux"; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Daisy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl George Doescher; parents, Adam Belanger and Agnes Justilien Fabre Belanger; brothers, Rudolph and wife Eula, Bernard and wife Eula, Odessa, Wilmot, and Arthur Lee Fabre and Davis and wife Genevieve, Roland and wife Jeanette, and Lawrence Belanger; and followed in death by her sister, Myrtle Belanger Crochet who was preceded by her husband Thomas.
Daisy was a good and faithful servant to both God and man. Besides raising four children, she tirelessly and lovingly gave of herself to her husband as wife and bookkeeper as well as to her community. As a young teen and adult, she sang in the church choir and was known in Montegut for her sweet, beautiful voice. Daisy loved performing in the fund-raising shows, she and several other parents performed in, in the Montegut School Auditorium. She was a Brownie and then Girl Scout Leader, member of the Montegut Children's Carnival Club for years (or until their children were old enough to take over), many hours were spent building, decorating floats and stages for the pageants. While acting as a substitute teacher the opportunity to become a full-time teacher came her way and she was off to college to get her degree in special education while working, maintain her home and raising a family. Never able to attend Nichols State University fulltime, she did accumulate 3 years and 5 months. The rising need for education and care for mentally and physically challenged students captured her heart. She lovingly and tenderly served these students and their families for the next 30 plus years, retiring at 72 from Terrebonne Association of Retarded Citizens. These special children became children of her heart and she often spoke of "her children" till her death.
Daisy loved and was so grateful for the life she had been given and lived it well! Loving wife, child of faith, confidant to all who needed her wisdom and guidance, gentle mother, obedient servant. We will all miss her presence on earth.

To Mrs. Daisy’s Family:

You are in our prayers during this difficult time. We pray that God will wrap his loving arms around you as you struggle in the days ahead and learn to navigate through life without the person that you so dearly loved.

We pray for you to have strength and courage to face the life without your loved one. May your memories always keep her spirit alive.

Mrs. Daisy is now at peace and resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. She is now reunited with all of the loved ones who went “Home” before her.

Our prayers and thoughts are with each of you.

I’m sure that Mother (Jenny LeBoeuf) has welcomed Mrs. Daisy HOME with a big hug and they are reminiscing about their days working at TARC!

Our deepest sympathy,
Debbie & Ralph Robichaux
