Gilberto Gomez Obituary

Gilberto Gomez 52, Indianapolis, passed away November 11, 2010. Gil was born November 21, 1957, in Davenport, IA, the son of the late Jorge and Antonia (Orosco) Gomez. He married Michele (Manion) Gomez on September 5, 1986. Gil was Vice President of Hogan Mayflower Transfer and Storage in Indianapolis. He was an avid member of the Carmel and Indianapolis Chambers of Commerce, Hispanic Business Council, Indiana Relocation Council, Optimist Club International, and the Carmel Rotary. He graduated from the University of Iowa and in 2005, he proudly received the Alumni Volunteer of the Year award. Gil's heart belonged to his wife and his "brown eyed girls." He was dedicated to his family and never missed an event that included one of them. Gil lived a life of faith, passion and love. He always gave more than he took. Gil is survived by his wife, Michele Gomez; daughters, Heather (Eddie) Gomez Brown, Christie Gomez, Jamie Gomez; granddaughters, Ella and Ava Brown; siblings, John (Patt) Zamora, Eloise Cowen, Vic (Glenda) Zamora, Jorge (Eileen) Gomez Jr., and Maurie (Diane) Gomez. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 317 North New Jersey Street. Visitation will be 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2010, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Gil was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
