TUPELO - TUPELO - Mary Sue Cornelius Spigner, 85, passed from this life on June 10, 2025, at the Landmark Nursing Facility in Booneville.

A graveside service was held at Kirkville Cemetery in Itawamba County at 11 AM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, with Brother Caleb Holder officiating. Holland Funeral Directors was entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Spigner was born on September 2, 1939, in Corinth, MS to the late Ralph Cornelius and Dora Cadle Cornelius. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1957 and Memphis State University in 1961 with a degree in secondary education. She spent several years in Memphis working for the Memphis Public Library.

She married Billy Dean "Coach" Spigner on December 31, 1971, and they spent 38 years together until his death on Feb. 16, 2010. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Tupelo.

She had a great love for the arts and was an accomplished artist and poetry writer.

She is survived by her first cousins, Tommy Dexter Cadle (Nancy), Wanda (Cadle) Cox, Bonnie (Cadle) Wildman (Darrell), Karen (Myrick) Hanson, and Ross Rice (Cindy), and their families.
