Gordon J. Dvorachek
RACINE – Gordon J. Dvorachek, 91, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Friday, December 21, 2007. Gordon was born in Racine on December 1, 1916, to Vincent and Helen (nee: Sustachek) Dvorachek. He lived most of his life in Racine, living in Arkdale from 1973 until 1990. He married the former Eleanor M. Graham at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on April 19, 1947. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2007. Gordon served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1942 until 1945 in both England and France. He was employed by Massey Harris and retired from J.I. Case Company. Gordon was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Modern Woodman for over 50 years and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Survivors include his daughter, Mary (Marc) Rother of Racine; sons, Michael (Barbara) Dvorachek of Las Vegas, Nev. and John (Molly) Dvorachek of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, John Rother, Amy Rother, Bryan Dvorachek and Leah Dvorachek; sisters-in-law, Lila Graham of Sun City, Ariz. and Rosemarie Beiring of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and brother-in-law Ernest (Marion) Slovak of Beaver Dam. Gordon is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, James Vincent Dvorachek and brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Dorothy Dvorachek; sister-in-law Margaret Slovak and brothers-in law Harlan Graham and Charles Graham. Funeral services for Gordon will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church have been suggested.
