I haven't seen Uncle Davie since I was a little fat girl coming over your house with my family for the holidays. My mother, Helen, was his sister. I remember Uncle Davie use to have hunting dogs, planes, and I also remember diving gear at my grandmother's house on Wyman Terrace. I moved to California when I was young, so I missed out on the pleasure of spending time with you guys. My love and condolences to all of you!

Imagine if I was given one moment, just a single slice of my past. I could hold it close forever, & that moment would always last. I'd put the moment in a safe, within my hearts abode. I could open it when I wanted, & only I would know the code. I've dug deep inside my heart, found the safe & looked inside, there was room for lots of moments, hundred's if I tried. I can open it up whenever I like, pick a moment & watch it through, My little safe acts as a promise, I'll never ever forget you. Love you Davie.

This poem always made me think of Davey and his love for flying. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;

To roll and glide, to wheel and spin, To feel the joy that swells within;

To leave the earth with its troubles and fly, And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;

Then back to earth at the end of a day, Released from the tensions which melted away;

Should my end come while I am in flight, Whether brightest day or darkest night;

Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain, Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again;

For each of us is created to die, And within me I know,

I was born to fly.

I speak for my entire family when I say how very sad we were to hear about Dave. He will be greatly missed by us and so many others. Dave was like a second grandfather to my children for all the years he and Millie lived across the street from us in Walpole. We were truly blessed to have had Dave and Millie as neighbors and friends. Our loss is Heaven's gain. He will certainly keep the angels smiling. With love and sympathy to Millie, their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids for their loss. Love, Brian, Jody, Chelsea and Sean Cleary

A man full of life, always positive, always fun. Could spend hours with him talking about Aircraft and Airshows. He always made me smile when he would come in to Babels. We've been to a few Airshows together and Dave would say "I'll meet you under the wing" I always knew what plane he was talking about. I will miss him greatly, and never see an Airshow without thinking of him.
