Virginia Hague Obituary

Virginia Nock Hague of Millington, MD, died at her home on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was 102.

She was born on April 20, 1920, in Pocomoke City, MD, the daughter of the late James T. and Maude White Nock. She was a 1941 graduate of Washington College earning a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Latin. She married on June 1941 to the late Charles Sylvester Hague, Jr.

Mrs. Hague resided in Western Pennsylvania from 1941 until moving to Millington in 1978. Raising her family in Western Pennsylvania, she was a member of the College Club of Greensburg, deacon of the Scottdale Baptist Church, President of PTAs, and substitute teacher. Locally, she was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, a member of Chester River Yacht and Country Club, and the 1782 Club at Washington College. An avid and accomplished bridge player until she was 100, she also enjoyed the beach, wildlife, and her pet dogs and cats.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Ellen Hague of Louisville, KY, Merilyn Hague Arms of Destiny Bay, British Columbia, Canada, and Linda Hague Crew of Betterton, MD; grandchildren, Jonah Hague Arms, Caleb Powell Arms, Christian Hague Crew and Kyle Melvin Crew; along with five great-grandchildren; and her faithful cat "Tabby."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 am at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, 905 Gateway Dr., Chestertown, MD 21620 or Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617.
