Frances Blankenship

LIMA — Frances Blankenship, 80, passed away on March 22, 2021, at 10:10 pm, at Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born October 14, 1940 in Maitland "Welch", WV, to James "Curt" and Mazie (Collins) Roberts who preceded her in death. On June 8, 1957 she married Sidney A. Blankenship who survives in Lima, OH.

Frances graduated from Princeton High School in West Virginia in 1958. She worked for the Allen County Juvenile Court as the secretary for Judge Kenworthy's office and later worked for Catholic Charities in the accounting and payroll department. Frances loved cooking for her family. She cherished her husband dearly and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her children, Judith "Judy" (Bill) Gavalas of Lima, OH, James "Jim" Blankenship of Minster, OH, grandchildren, Michael Reed of Saint Marys, OH, Curtis (Genna Carpenter) Blankenship of Columbus Grove, OH, Lindsay (Michael) Simpson of Lima, OH, great-grandchildren, Aleeah Brooks, Olivia Blankenship, Lyhah Blankenship, Landon, Logan, Madison Belanger, and Monae Simpson.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Bryan Bucher officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Christian M. Neff Memorial Scholarship Fund at Apollo Career Center, 3325 Shawnee Road, Lima, OH, 45806.
