CHELMSFORD, MA -- Mr. Charles Edward DeVries, 54, of Chelmsford, MA, died Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 2012. at Lowell General Hospital.

The son of the late George E. and Eleanor L. (Lane) DeVries. Charles was a graduate of Nashoba Technical High School with the class of 1976, and Sylvania Technical School in 1982, he continued to take college courses throughout his life.

Mr. DeVries was co-owner of A.T.R. Inc., of New Hampshire.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, smoking and preparing meats, and in his earlier years had a fondness to tending bonsai trees.

He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Chris Bernard of Chelmsford; a niece, Elizabeth Chhoeum and her husband, Victor of Chelmsford; a nephew, Christopher Bernard and his wife, Jenna of Virginia; a great-nephew, Alexander Christopher Chhoeum, of Chelmsford, several cousins, and close family friends, he also leaves his business partners, Joe Lunetta of New Hampshire, and John Capone Jr., both of Florida.

DeVRIES -- A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. Burial will be private in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
