LOWELL -- Robert J. Pettie, 61, of Lowell, died Sunday, April 12 at his home.

He was born on July 31, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert Pettie who passed away in 1965, and Hedwig (Ordzie) Pettie who passed away in 2005.

He grew up in Lowell and attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Keith Academy until its closure, and later graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1976.

Bob worked for several high tech manufacturing facilities until joining the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office in 1992. He was with the Sheriff's Office for 21 years. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed coaching baseball at Shedd Park. During his coaching, he helped lead his team to the Eastern Massachusetts Cal Ripkin Championship.

Bob is survived by his three children, Andrea Drolet of Lowell, Meaghan Pettie of Lowell, and Robert J. Pettie of Dracut; his grandchildren, Aubrey, Gracie, Devin, Veronica, Declan, Emma, Lilly, and Carla. He is also survived by his former wife, Susan (Coan) Pettie.
