On Sunday, January 31, 2021, Carolyn Rose Lehr passed away peacefully at the age of 68. Carolyn was born in Sacramento, CA. She is predeceased by her father Delbert and her sister Jean. She is survived by her mother Rosemary, siblings George, Paul and Janet, husband of 45 years, Anthony Scott, and sons Ryan and Devin. Carolyn had an epic 30-year career in public service, including Community Development in Sunnyvale, and served as City Manager of Monte Sereno (CA), Keego Harbor (MI), Rancho Palos Verdes (CA) and Emeryville (CA). The life of every party, Carolyn welcomed all into her home and never failed to entertain, connect and inspire. Carolyn is remembered by her family and friends as a loving soul, an unstoppable force, a charismatic leader, and a thoughtful friend who radiated beauty for the world to behold. She lived with purpose and principle, danced and sang with abandon, loved and cared selflessly, and fought with grace and grit no matter the odds. She left us in awe. A viewing and service will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, February 5th at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento. Donations can be made in her name to 'City of Hope' or 'Pancreatic Cancer Action Network'.

I worked with Carolyn in the early 1970s. She was the senior Recreation Leader that held the hands of us entry level Rec Leaders to get us thru the job. Her bright-eyed enthusiasm made her my first mentoryou know, before the term ‘mentor’ was cool. I clearly remember assembling a Camellia Parade float in her parent’s garage in Hollywood Parkwe all had no clue what we were doing, but boy did we laugh. Good memories never die. Thank you, Carolyn

Carolyn served as our City Manager here in Keego Harbor, Michigan at a time we were deeply involved with developing a site for a new City Hall. I worked closely with Carolyn, along with other members of our City Boards long enough to realize that our city had been pleased with our selection of Carolyn Lehr to serve as our City Manager. Her devotion to detail, ability to lend sound thought to performance of her duties, allowed me to believe Carolyn was one of our finest City Managers. I had pleasure to server with this fine lady as a member of several City Boards. and she was missed greatly when she left our City.
