Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, May Green Ellis, children; Marsha Cook (Bill) of Montgomery, AL, Katie Madaris (Chuck) of Hope Hull, AL, Ned Thomas Ellis, Jr. (Melissa) of Hope Hull, AL, Ellen Burkett (Ronald) of Greenville, AL, grandchildren; Anna McKee (Graves), Reynolds Cook, Charlie Madaris (Carrie), Kathleen Evans (Bradfield), Tyler Ellis (Sarah), Stinson Ellis (Alison), Taber Ellis (Grace), Salley Thompson (Trent), Cliff Burkett, eight great-grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Melvin Warren.
Donations may be made to the Alabama Cattleman's Scholarship Fund, 201 South Bainbridge St. Montgomery, AL 36102, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, P.O. Box 230685, Montgomery, AL 36123, or a charity of your choice.

I am saddened to have lost a good friend of Auburn University and the Beef Cattle Community. Ned was such a postive influence in so many lives. I sense that God greated him with "well done good and faithful servant". I am so proud to have known him and appreciated his support of my professional research and outreach programs at Auburn. To the family of Mr. Ned and especially Thomas, Beverly and I were very fond of your father. He always treated us as if were his best friends, even though we mostly just saw him at pecan meetings. Years ago in New Orleans, probably at a Southeastern Pecan Growers meeting, we were eating at Brennan's with a group and your Dad bought your pecan pie for everyone at the table.
