Barbara Anne Dunne, age 81, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on June 16, 2023. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 30, 1941. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1960. Barbara received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emmanuel College in Boston and a Masters in Education from Lesley University in Boston. As an educator, Barbara taught for 31 years in Pittsfield. There she was active on many committees as well as a member of the bargaining unit for the P.T.A. She also worked part time as an organizer for the Mass Teachers Association; and enjoyed her time working for the Pittsfield Teachers Credit Union. Upon retiring to Bradenton, Barb enjoyed her time planting flowers, volunteering at Mote Marine Laboratory as well as being an active member of The Bishop Museum and Marie Selby Gardens. She is survived by Kathryn J. Dohoney whom she was able to marry on June 5, 2015. They were together for 56 years. Barbara is survived by her brother, Thomas Dunne and wife, Laura, their two sons; Corey, wife, Joanna and children; Matthew and Olivia; and another son, Ryan, wife, Ashley, and children; Emilia and Harrison; cousin, Judy Graves of Hampton, Georgia; nephew, Christopher and wife, Christine, daughters; Quinn and Paige of Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Manatee Food Bank, mealsonwheelsplus.org. Barbara was under the services of Home Instead who were both kind and considerate to her especially Barbara Napali. No Services are scheduled at this time.
