Anne, Rebecca and family...I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Daniels' death. She was such a sweet lady and always wore a smile. Your mom was one of the very first people I met when I joined FUMC some 30 years ago and she immediately put me at ease. Our church has lost such a dear Christian but Heaven has gained another angel. You are all in our (Jenny, Sarah and myself) thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Mrs. Bertha, for all the kindnesses, laughter, and comradery. I loved knowing you and sharing stories and Chocolate Chip cookies. You showed everyone great love, and will remain a constant reminder of how love is supposed to be shown.
As the mother you were to your children, you will be greatly missed.
God blessed me with you.

Bertie Girl,
I miss you so very much! My heart aches for 1 more hug, 1 more kiss, 1 more minute with you. I am comforted by the fact that one day we will be reunited in Heaven and I will be able to get all the hugs and kisses! I LOVE YOU more than any words can convey.
Love,
Emmy Daniel

Bertha's legacy is enormous.
She leaves several generations of her family with a legacy of love.
She has become a role model for so many members of her family and beyond.
She leaves a legacy to First UMC of saintly, unselfish service to her Lord.
She leaves a legacy of community good will, hospitality, and "can do" spirit to the town of Cary.
She leaves a legacy to me of kindness.
I have been privileged to know Bertha as one of her pastors for over 28 years!
In June of 1989, she showed me kindness when I arrived in Cary.
That kindness never ceased.
After every visit with her, she smiled, thanked me, and said a kind word.
Those words of kindness will live on in me.
Thank you, Bertha!
