Dr. Shetler delivered my second and last babies. She was the best Ob/Gyn I ever had. I had a baby when I was extremely young and she helped me through all that. She was a wonderful woman.

My late mother Nancy Cross Carroll use to tell all of us kids stories of her & Dr. Betty Schettler working together. She delivered all 4 of us kids & her story of Dr. Schettler waking my mother up in the recovery room to let her know she had twin girls. My mother thought, how far would she go? She always made fun with her saying lets see if we can her 2 fetal heart tones. Neither one of them knew that she was having twins. I had the priviledge of knowing her & having her be my physician before her retirement. She was a wonderful person & physician who will truly be missed by many. My husband & his twin were delivered by her partner Dr. Martha Loving. From the Carroll's: Libby Carroll Bell, Britt Carroll & Angela Carroll Childs.

Betty was such an inspiration to all her cousins, especially the female ones. She broke the glass ceiling with no fanfare but with a quiet chuckle.

A long life well lived does not diminish the void that is left by death. Slightly older than Betty, we spent many of our early years together under the watchful eye of our Grandmother Schettler, never dreaming of the distinguished career that lay ahead for Betty. I am truly saddened by the news of her death.

Dr. Schettler brought me into this world 47 years ago, and my mother has always had such wonderful stories of her servitude. She made house calls, and provided free services for those who could not afford to pay. What a wonderful woman, physician, and humanitarian.

Dr. Schettler delivered two of my children many years ago. She was the most caring, brilliant doctor I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I shared my love and admiration of her with many people, but could never truly express what she meant to me and other patients that I have been acquainted with. Thank God for her life.
