Carolyn Davis Nunnery, 92, of Rock Hill, SC and formerly of Edgemoor, SC went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025. She was born March 5, 1933 in Charlotte, NC and was the daughter of the late Carl and Marion Davis.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Nunnery, brother James O. Davis, and an infant son, John T. Nunnery.
As a young woman, Carolyn worked for the A&P in Charlotte, NC, as a bookkeeper until she met the love of her life on a blind date. She married Fred and moved to Edgemoor, SC. After raising their daughter, Carolyn worked in retail sales for Belk department store and Norman Hege Jewelers in Rock Hill, SC. She retired to be full time daycare for her grandson. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and “maw-maw.”
Carolyn was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor, SC. She served as the choir director and a Sunday school teacher. She had a lovely, alto-singing voice. She later joined the Edgemoor ARP Church.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Alice Olvera, and husband, John of Edgemoor, SC; grandson, John (Jay) Olvera of Cardiff, Wales; and her nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on April 1, 2025 at 11:00am at Harmony Baptist Church in Edgemoor, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Kempton of Rock Hill and the Providence Care Hospice team. Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
