Charles Balser Obituary
Charles E. Balser, 87 of Davenport passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Please share your condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Charles was born July 17, 1937, in Muscatine, IA to Elmer & Velma (McCollum) Balser. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. On June 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Lisa Emrick, his wife of 63 years. Charles had worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone for 31 years retiring in 1988.
Charles was a 50-year member of 1st Baptist Church Davenport and was a member of the Davenport Radio Control Society where he loved to build and operate radio-controlled planes. He and Lisa loved to vacation in Missouri at Lake Thunder Head. Both Lisa & Charles were avid fishermen.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Balser, Davenport; son Brian (Mandy) Balser, Knoxville, IL; daughter Marcy (Chris Walton) Ashby, Orion, IL, 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister Beverly Brewer, Muscatine; nieces & nephews; and good friend Jerry Clemmen.
