Chizuko "Chizzie" Omori, resident of San Jose & Milpitas, passed away on December 9, 2014. She was born in Palo Alto, CA on September 9, 1921, to Hatsugoro and Chiyoko Fujikawa. She is predeceased by her beloved brothers Tetsuo (Alice), Toshio Fujikawa, husband Richard Omori, and her son Chris(Carrie)Yasukawa. She is survived by her children, Tyrus (Mary Jo), Sharon, & Dale Yasukawa, 8 grandchildren, & 5 great grandchildren. She graduated from Palo Alto High in 1939. Her family was interned in Heart Mountain, WY in 1941, where she met & married Harry Yasukawa of San Jose. After 28 wonderful years at San Jose State University's Physical Ed. Dept, she retired in 1991. She kept very active as a member of Yu-Ai Kai Sr Ctr where she and Dick were part of the original paper roll team. She played pool, joined the wood carving class at Willow Glen and attended the Milpitas and Menlo Park Sr Ctrs. She married Richard "Dick" Omori in 1995 and moved to Milpitas where they enjoyed many years of marriage until his death in 2009. Her exuberant smile, true passion for people, generosity of spirit, and optimistic disposition is part of her great legacy she has left for all those lives she touched through her 93 years. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 566 No. 5th Street, San Jose, CA on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00pm.
