CHRISTOPHER M. BRUNE
AGE: 36 FORMERLY OF POINT PLEASANT
Christopher M. Brune, 36, of Lisbon Falls, Maine died, very peacefully, Saturday March 13, 2010 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. Chris was born in Point Pleasant NJ on May 27, 1973, a son of Jim and Maureen (Sullivan) Brune. He was educated in New Jersey, graduated from Brick High School and later graduated from University of Maine Orono. Chris married his true love, the former Hilary Brann on October 28, 2000 and together they settled in Lisbon Falls. Chris was a technical wizard he loved electronics and was an electronics specialist at Target in S. Portland until his illness. Chris was a loving friend, husband and especially father, even though he was unable to live at home the past 3 years with his daughter Katie she knew him and knew how much he loved her. When he fell ill he was told he might live to see the birth of Katie so he went out and got 18 birthday cards and shared a story about himself and on each card he has listed a favorite movie of his that he would like her to watch on that particular birthday with her mom so Katie will know who her father was. He also started a journal for her to read when she gets older. Chris was a huge action figure collector, he enjoyed his video games, watching movies, nascar, and was a huge hockey fan, he also enjoyed golf and playing hockey in his younger years. Chris looked forward to seeing his company that would visit him as much as possible, he loved spending time with them especially his little niece Kieran.
Chris leaves his wife of nine years, Hilary and their daughter, Katie of Lisbon falls; his parents, Jim and Maureen Brune of Brick, NJ; a brother, James R. Brune II and his wife Ally of Jacksonville FL; his in laws, Dick and Hilda Brann of W. Gardiner; a sister in law, Heather Ahearn and her husband Bob of Eddington; three nieces, Kieran Ahearn, Emily and Sarah Brune; a nephew, Matthew Brune, and Hilary's grandparents, Richard and Laurette Brann of Augusta. The family would like to send a very special thank you to all the staff at Mid Coast senior Health, Bodwell Unit for their awesome and compassionate care they gave to Chris and his entire family for his three year stay with them. You truly became part of his family.
Visitation Crosman Funeral Home Tuesday, 2 - 4 & 6 - 8. A celebration of Christopher's life will be held Wednesday 11:00 Am at the funeral home. Committal will be held in the spring at Litchfield Plains Cemetery. Our hearts are deeply saddened for the loss of Chris. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Hilary and Katie(who looks just like her dad!) and your extended family. Thank you for allowing us to be your friends these past 11 years. There have been ups and downs, but the ups have been so rewarding. We were thinking about a funny moment, remember New Year's Eve 2000 we were all afraid there was going to be a blackout because of the millenium but we had our flashlights and candles ready- of course nothing happened. I'm so glad that Sam and Laurie (Guilford, VT) were able to see Chris on their recent trip to Maine. You and Chris were great suitemates at UMO. Also glad that Sam and Becca (Lexington, MA) were able to meet and drive up to see you on rainy, windy Monday since they could not be at the memorial service. You both mean a lot to all who know you! Photos of your daughter are lovely. She must be such a source of pride and comfort!

Chris and I didn't know each other well, but we did graduate school together. Hil, it seems like just yesterday that we all lived on 3rd floor Andro, and yet, it was 15 years ago. It makes my heart happy in remembering that to know you had many wonderful years with Chris before the hardest ones. And it makes me especially grateful that Chris could know Katie and that Katie could know her daddy. He was a great guy and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Chris was the first true geek I ever met. Obsessed with Star Wars and the like. I crack up that he thought TRON was one of the best movies ever. He was a good guy, through and through. His laugh made me laugh. I know being sick was a challenge to his overflowing pride, and I'm glad he's at peace now.
