Cary
Christopher Scott Duryea, 45, of Cary, NC died at home Monday. Chris graduated from Western Hills HS in Frankfort, KY and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky and worked 10 years for Buhler Aeroglide. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and traveling.
Chris is survived by his daughter Anya and wife Tiffany; his mother Rhodonna Norris and siblings: Elizabeth "Libby" Howerton and husband Jeff, Melissa "Lisa" Samples, Liberty Duryea, Russell "Rezty" Duryea and wife Laura.
Visitation will start at 1 pm and will be followed by a memorial service at 2 pm Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary's Street, Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Coastal Federal Credit Union in care of Anya Duryea 1000 St. Albans Drive Raleigh, NC 27609

Chris,
It was an honor to have you as a son. Your were such a handsome, whitty, intelligent, and caring person. Everyone loved you! I miss you dearly and will always treasure the memories.
It was always a delight to see you with your daughter Anya. The love you had for her and her for you was always apparent when I saw you two together. I am so thankful to have been able to share those precious moments with you and her.
I always have and always will love you. God bless until we meet again.

Dear brother Chris. I am so thankful that God blessed our family with you. Even though your time on this earth was shorter than we wanted, the wonderful memories we had together for the 41 years of my life will forever live in my heart. Your kind, loving and giving spirit lives on in your surviving loved ones and we are better people because of knowing you. As others have said, you were a person who would selflessly give the shirt off your back to help others. This appreciation of your kind heart has been exhibited by the people whose lives you touched following your death. I will miss your warm smile, hugs, practical jokes and whitty humor. Chris, you were the heart and soul of our family. I will forever miss your big heart, and your crazy sense of humor. You lived to make people smile and laugh. You loved brightening others' day. Everyone was a friend. YOURS was such a beautiful smile ... and when you got that twinkle in your eyes ... watch out! There was a prank coming lol I will forever miss all of our talks, all of our bets we made as kids, all the games we played together, usually trying to one up each other. What a great guy, well liked and respected at the office of Ky Sec. of State in Frankfort. The girls in records loved him. I'm sorry for your loss. He loved and spoke about his family everyday.

So sorry to hear this. Chris and I worked together in the Kentucky Department of Corrections several years ago. He was a very sweet and funny fellow. I'm so sorry for your loss. God bless this family.
