Curtis Preston Hayes

Curtis Preston Hayes entered into the immediate presence of the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011. He joins his father, all of his paternal aunts, uncles, grandparents, all the dogs Curt loved, and Elvis Presley.
Curt was the fourth of five children born to Harold Dwight Hayes and Juanita K. Hayes on May 24, 1960 in Orleans France. He spent his early years growing up in Fayetteville and Cary, NC. He resided for many years in Morrisville, NC before he moved with his parents to Roseboro, NC. He had been living in Raleigh, NC for the last four months. Everyone in Morrisville knew Curt for his kindness and for the hard work he provided doing lawn care. He made a friend wherever he went, walking up to strangers shaking their hands and calling the ladies "Sweetheart".
Curt was a proud graduate from Cary High School Class of 1979 earning his GED with the rest of his special education class. He worked for JC Edwards Construction Co. and alongside his father doing carpentry.
He is survived by his mother, Juanita of Roseboro, NC. Four sisters and brothers and their spouses, Paula McConville (Mike) of San Antonio, TX, Michelle Sears (Philip) of Charlotte, NC, Mitch Hayes (Janet) of Holly Springs, NC, Quint Hayes (Beth) of Knightdale, NC, three aunts, Barbara Wilson of Pittsboro, NC, June Hayes of Cary, NC Virginia Uram of Alderwood Manor, WA, 10 nieces and nephews and many cousins. His love for his family will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The Lord has blessed and kept Curt, the Lord has made his face shine upon Curt, and has been gracious to Curt, the Lord has lifted his countenance upon Curt and gave him peace.

Hayes family: I was so shocked when Janet phoned me about Curt's death. At least his brothers were with him when he passed. I am sure he is up in Heaven, listening to the world's longest Elvis Presley concert given by The King himself!
