I should add that Dr. Hollis's eye surgical skills were superb. His hands were the steadiest and quickest I've ever witnessed.

This enabled his courage to take on challenging cases, achieve excellent results, and to treat an enormous number of patients.

What a tragic loss for the human race. But how wonderful that we had his presence for 70 years.

Dr. Hollis was a brilliant innovator in many aspects of eye care, eye surgery, and patient management. His contributions to the field have improved all of our lives through these advances, including increasing our access to refractive and cataract surgery.

I was incredibly fortunate to have been employed by him for several years as an ophthalmologist after completing my residency. He was unfailingly kind and uniquely generous, constantly sharing and teaching what he had learned. A true father figure and mentor.

I wish I had been able to spend much more time with him. Thank you Dr. Hollis. Please rest In peace.
