My dear sweet loving Cuz,

Though you and I were apart for years as we lived our lives, we reconnected about a year ago via text messages. I would receive a message from you almost daily for about eight months. In that time we grew so very close. Back in October of last year I gave you a big gaudy necklace with the colors representing your team The Saints!! You wore it proudly!! I still have the photo on my phone. When you texted me last year telling me you were making a birthday present for me I was thrilled!! When I was finally able to visit you after my birthday had passed you gave it to me. I cried. No one in my 53 years of my life had ever given me something so precious as the cream/burgundy blanket you crocheted for me. Every time I cover myself with it I smile. My heart is shattered and I know my life will never be the same. You will always be in my heart til the end of my days. Smile my fairy princess, you are no longer in pain.
With much love and admiration, I will always be your "Baby Cuz"!

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

My beautiful Diana this made me think of you, for know you will be in my heart always. I hear you still as you call my name, "Mayan"

My Little Fairy,
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of You that way

I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the Moon
But I'll be seeing YOU !

Take my hand Like when we were young To run away To laugh and play To lay under the sun To remember each day We fought the monsters under the bed We fought the voices in our heads Now we face the undefeated Now the feeling of being cheated We didn't always see eye to eye Even told each other lies Once severed ties But I will stand by your side Hand in hand Until you close your eyes. This was words and you read them yourself. I made a promise to you Diana and God know I didn't do this alone, as I held your hand He held mine. I held your hand and talked to you until daddy took over and took you by the hand and took you home. To a place with no pain only joy and happiness. I could save you baby, I wanted to but God wanted you to come home. I will be with you again but I have work here to do first, so it will be a while. But you come see me girl anytime, I'm waiting.
This was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life but I would not change it for the world. Every second I spent with you Diana was a blessing. We made plan baby and now I have to do them alone. I am not happy about that. But I am grateful that God did not leave you to suffer long.
You are so caring that you apologized to me, with tears in your eyes you said "I'm sorry you got stuck taking care of me". I just smiled and said "Girl I'm not stuck I'm right where I want to be. I choose to do this, I didn't sit around a table and pull straws and got stuck with you. Baby I wanted you. You are my sister and you would of done the same for me, this I know." You smiled at me and said "I didn't know you loved me that much" Girl you have no ideal how much I love you. Dear God make me strong to get though this. I thought holding your hand while you too your last breath was hard but I can't seem to breath right without you.
Until I can be with you again, hug daddy, Mimi, Papa Roger papa and Grandma Florance for me. Tell the rest I see them when I see them. I love you Girl.

Diana, my Dear Cuz and Special friend that I've known for a short time even though we were family, we connected when we finally met and felt like we've known each other for a life time. We were the same age, we lived a similar life, we had a daughter, etc. so many things we had in common. I was looking forward to spending more time with you my friend once I retire from my government job but now I will keep you close to my heart spiritually. I will miss you but on a happy note I know you are with your Daddy now.

This poem is one of the Guest Book suggestions and found it fits perfect.
My condolences go out to all those that are dear to Diana. May God bless you during these difficult times. All my Love and Prayers, Cuz Rhonda Barefield

A Reminiscence, By Anne Bronte

YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.

May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.

Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.
