Edward Earl Dockery age 65 of Sugar Cove Road, Clyde passed away on Wednesday, August 17th, 2005 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Haywood County on May 11, 1940 to George Dockery and the late Geneva Mercer Dockery. He was educated in Haywood County before entering the US Army where he served during the Cuban Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post of Waynesville. He worked many years for the State Department of Transportation as a service technician.

In addition to his father, George Dockery of Waynesville, he is survived by his wife of 24 years Juanita Langley Dockery of the home, one daughter Sherry Kernsy of Icard, NC and one son Tommy Dockery of Hickory, NC.

Services will be held at 2PM Saturday, August 20th, 2005 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Moore and Reverend Ronald Green officiating. Special music will be provided by Nancy Jane and Terry Finger, Dottie Ramsey, Thomas Ramsey, and Marlene Trantham. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at 534 Sugar Cove Road.

The family invites you to stop by the funeral home and leave a personal tribute in the Enduring Memories Booth for Mr. Dockery.

Burial will be in the Fulbright Cemetery in Rogers Cove. Jose Altuna, Billy Strickland, David Pearson, Chris Pearson, Coty Trantham, Mark Dockery, and Bobby McCumbee with serve as pallbearers. William Langley, Don Huffstetler, and Diane Hall will serve as honorary pallbearers. The American Legion and VFW Posts will conduct Military Rites.
