Frances Delawese James went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Pasadena, Texas at the age of 87. Frances was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 1, 1926. She joined her beloved husband, Sam W. James, her parents, Vessie Mae Turner and Jack H. Turner, and her grandson Christopher Lynn Williams on the golden streets of Heaven as she shed her earthly bonds. She is survived by her daughter, Linda and her husband Michael Williams, her son Sam Dwayne James and wife Leanne, 5 Grandchildren Scott Williams and wife Misty, Sam Kyle James and wife Priscilla, Kamie Reens, Chandler Frazer and Elijah James and 3 Great-Grandchildren, Casey, Cord and Cara Williams. Frances was an only child and her favorite childhood memories were on the farm with her grandparents and several cousins which became her de facto brothers and sisters. She cherished and continued these relationships for the rest of her life. Frances grew up traveling as her dad was in pipefitting and construction and found herself in Oklahoma in 1942 at the age of 16 where she met the love of her life Sam W. James and married after a 2 week courtship. That marriage lasted until his death on September 12, 2001. Sam and Frances moved to Pasadena, Texas where after he was called to service in World War II Europe. While Sam was away, Frances held jobs working at the police station and Todd shipyard passing the time until his return. When Sam returned, he and Frances started James Plumbing Company in Pasadena which they built into the City's oldest continuing plumbing service establishment. Frances came to know the Lord while Sam was in Europe and introduced him to Jesus when he returned. She loved to sing hymns and always encouraged the spiritual walk of her entire family and friends. An always faithful prayer warrior, you could count on her to carry even your smallest concern to the throne room of Jesus. Sam and Frances were members of the Nazarene Church and built Red Bluff Church of the Nazarene in the early 60's along with several churches in the Philippines through the Ministry to Christian Nationals. Sam and Frances later attended Parkgate Community Church before Sam's passing and then subsequently attended Fairmont Park Church with her daughter, Linda. In her long and full life she had many accomplishments. Some of these would include a devoted wife, loving mother, successful entrepreneur, committed church member, and faithful friend. However, the most important title she sought was to be a child of God. Although she is deeply loved and will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing that she will be eternally with her Lord, Jesus Christ in Heaven. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 12:00pm - 1:30p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in the Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following: Sagemont Church #missions 11300 S. To the wonderful family of Frances James from Darrell and Berta Zumalt and all the former members of the Red Bluff Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, Texas.
The memory of Frances and Sam James will continue to live on with the continuace of the church. The Lily Street Fellowship is now made up of the former members of the Red Bluff church and meets every Sunday in the former house of Sherwood Cryer. This past year more than 100 people past through the doors for baptisms, dedications of babies, and salvation. A great memorial to the James family that gave this church their initial start.
We send our prayers and comfort as you celebrate the homegoing of Frances.
When Berta and I pastored the Livingston Church of the Nazarene, Linda sent her tithes faithfully and Sam and Frances gave the first $500 on the purchase of the present 5 acre site that has two buildings covering more than 5000 sq. feet. The present pastor there now, was a student of mine when I served as adjunct professor for the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs. Amazing what God has done through the generous offerings of the James family, Mom,. Dad, and Linda. and the churches go on. Never dying. Thank you so much for allowing us to send this note of thanksgiving and joy to your family. We love you all. Darrell and Berta Zumalt and the former Red Bluff Church and the Livingston church. God bless and comfort you as this memory lives forever.

I have been inspired by the both the inner and outer beauty of Frances and her love of God, life and family. I will miss her and her lovely smile. May you feel God's love as He wraps His arms around you and your family and comforts you.
