Gladys Marie Claus, 86, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a Telephone Operator for New Jersey Bell in Hackensack and in Mountain Lakes for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a congregant of the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church for many years. She loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs , singing and yodeling. She was an avid gardener and loved trips to AC. Gladys loved the Jersey Shore and above all she loved her family very much. Born in Passaic she lived in Park Ridge and Lake Hopatcong for many years, moving to Whiting 28 years ago.

Gladys is predeceased by her husband, the late Alfred "Al" C. Claus in 2014 and her daughter the late Linda Claus in 2009. Surviving are two sons, Alfred C. Jr., and his wife Sharyn; and Carl E. and his wife Christy. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Fred, Chrispen and Carol as well as a sister Doris Wells and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 24,2015, from 10am until Services begin at 12pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ 08759. Entombment will follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd. Toms River, 08753.
