Family-Placed Obituary

GLENN A. STARNES Glenn A. Starnes, 59, of Lake Worth, FL passed away at his home on May 20, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. A decorated Vietnam veteran he was wounded and received a purple heart for his valor after nearly ten years of military service flying helicopters and planes. After leaving military he pursued his life's passion of flying and piloted both private and commercial flights for the last 30 years. He was a recognized leader in the field of aviation safety and currently held the title of Manager of Flight Safety with American Eagle/Executive Airlines. Hobbies and Interests: Country music, fishing and boating. Enjoyed playing musical instruments – sax, organ, steel guitar. He also had a passion for cooking and everyone will truly miss his famous peanut brittle. Survivors include his mother, Edna (Phillip) Delucia of Bainbridge, GA; aunt, Delores Capan of Warren, OH; wife, Darlene (Dermott) Starnes; son, Bradley Starnes of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Danielle Kishbaugh of Houston, TX; sisters, Cynthia Dunnan (Daniel), Tracey Golden (Brian), and Denise Rice; grandchildren, Tyler and Chloe of Houston, TX; niece/nephew, Stacie Maine and Richard Britt, . Along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. The Starnes family will receive their friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Tuesday, May 24 at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 PM. Mr. Starnes will be laid to rest with military honors at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Glenn Starnes to Hospice of Palm Beach County. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dorsey-E. I still read the Palm Beach Post daily as Tommy and I were born and raised there, but, it seems someone from our past is always listed in the obits. Cindy and family we are so sorry for your loss. Tommy talks often and fondly of Glenn and Knotty Pine Acres.
