Glynn Thomas Baker

Olive Branch - GLYNN THOMAS BAKER, 74, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009. He was born on May 20, 1934 in Derma, MS, the sixth child of Lavonia Mae Hardin and John Winfred Baker. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Olive Branch where he was a deacon emeritus. Mr. Baker was also a Gideon and was a retired builder, store owner and worked at Malone and Hyde for 21 years. Mr. Baker, the husband of Hope Koonce Baker for 46 years, also leaves his children, Tommy (Cindy) Baker of Dallas, GA, Chris (Rebecca) Baker, David Baker, and Kim Baker (Kent) Richard, all of Olive Branch; siblings, Thelma Baker Middleton of Vermillion, OH, Robert Baker of Bruce, MS, Dorothy Baker Terry of Pittsboro, MS, Martha Baker Ruth of Columbus, MS, Penny Baker Starks of Pittsboro, MS, Bill Baker of Bruce, MS and Peggy Baker of Saltillo, MS; grandchildren, Michael and Bryan Baker of Powder Springs, GA, Sage Baker of Dallas, GA, Melody Joy Baker, Nadia Grace Baker and Jon Richard, all of Olive Branch. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alicia Baker Spruill, John Floyd Baker, James Lewis Baker, Rev. J.W. Baker, Jr., Rex Baker, Jean Baker Cannon and Kathryn Baker Avant. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Olive Branch on Monday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Park South Woods cemetery.
