Howard Hogan Obituary

Howard Uda Hogan Howard Uda Hogan was born on December 15, 1916, in Visalia, California, to Uda and Audrey Hogan. Howard passed away at home on December 16, 2013, at the age of 97, surrounded by family. Howard lived in Visalia until age 11 when his family moved to Taft, California. While in the seventh grade, Howard met the love of his life and future wife, Eva. Howard graduated from high school in Taft. While in high school, Howard was active in school activities and was on the student council as freshman class representative and later class President. A few years later, following a bad case of valley fever, Howard and Eva moved to Visalia where he continued to work as a barber for his uncle, eventually becoming part owner. Howard enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and remained on active duty for 3 years. Howard was involved in seven wartime invasions and survived the Pearl Harbor attack due to being hospitalized with mumps. Howard was discharged in 1946. Howard and his brother Harold eventually purchased the Sportsman Barbershop in Visalia, and worked until retirement. Howard was also a citrus farmer and avid outdoorsman. Howard loved hunting, fishing and horse racing. Howard also loved his family deeply. He was funny, loving and generous. Everyone was his "pal" and he was everyones' "Pardner."
