Howard Mangold Obituary
Howard Carl Mangold, of Randolph, passed away on January 2, 2016 at Akron City Hospital.
Born August 23, 1936 in Randolph the son of Wilson and Hazel Mangold, he was a graduate of Randolph High School Class of 1955.
He is survived by wife, Carol (Fellmeth) Mangold of 51 years; sons, David, Thomas (Shellie); and grandchildren, Toni and T.J., all from Randolph; nieces, nephews; brother, Delbert (Joyce); and dogs Missy and Suzie.
A member of the Randolph United Methodist Church, Randolph Historical Society (Founder and former President) and past member of the Ohio Maple Producers Association, he formerly worked as an electrician, plumber and farmer. He was involved in maple syrup production for over 60 years.
Howard was an active historian and avid genealogist for many years, actively researching the family's history. Hobbies included history, farm tractors, antiques and the internet.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Phil Hoverstock officiating. Cremation will follow.

I much enjoyed talking with Howard at a Randolph Heritage Day at the Fairgrounds--while eating the cracklings he had made on the spot. I learned he had helped put in the upstairs bathroom at my grandparents Clem and Rose Wise's place.
I have a sense of how great your loss is. God rest him.
